Back in the day, if someone were to tell us that we couldn't amount to anything, we would simply open up a huge can of “whoop ass” and prove them otherwise. We guess with age and maturity, the physical take on things doesn't really amount to the same effect.
We came to a realization that when throwing gauntlets of insults and demeaning statements, one must be smart with his/her reaction nevertheless should by no means, take adolescent words to the heart and create a torn apart spirit.
It’s sad to know that when most individuals hear words of depreciation with the use of a condescending tonality, the same individuals lose all hope and faith within themselves resulting into a failed attempt in success.
We guess nowadays people are still looking for a superhero to turn things around, little knowing that the superhero actually lies within themselves. It is quite a personal struggle especially when one feels like they could be worth less than a maggot consuming the remains of a carcass. Now that’s pretty pathetic.
As human beings, we always strive for the betterment and availing of the advantageous side on particular things but as human beings as well, we have our doubts, insecurities and fear. If there could only be one source of human emotion that could snip away the numerous negative battles that we face on a day to day.
Though the art of living life to it’s fullest often seems shady and quite despairing, it’s good to know that there was one man that fought all norms and despite of what the world might have tried to succumb his aspirations as a failed attempt, he stood proudly and did the only thing he felt he could do to object to the demeaning injustice he received all his life. He said “F*ck You!” and walked on to becoming a huge impact on those who felt like they belonged to group of castaways.
Ryan Dunn, with his untimely demise, left this world as a spokesperson to individuals that have been talked down to, that have suffered the prejudice of being who they want to be and those that have just heard the words “you will never amount to anything.”
As a child,
Ryan Dunn was never the popular kid, his parents always told him that he was useless and a mistake and his peers could give a rat’s ass on anything that
Ryan Dunn wanted to do in his life. Growing up, he took fancy into stunt doubling, using his rage towards the same people that cursed him as a child, he became physical with his actions but not in a negative way. He wanted to prove others wrong by doing death defying stunts and acts that others were just too scared to do.
Years into his career, he then collaborated with a group of individuals that had the same rage and same intentions and of course, the same interest; looking at death in the face and saying, “whatever I can do today and see another day to talk about is a big middle finger in your face!”
Ryan Dunn with his companions,
Johnny Knoxville,
Steve-O, Wee-man and the rest of the
Jackass Crew soon became an American Phenomenon. With the crazy antics and Stunts that any ordinary person would only imaging doing in their wildest dreams,
Ryan Dunn and the
Jackass Crew created a whole new image for stunt-men worldwide.
It’s evident that with the type of battered spirit that
Ryan Dunn once had with years of torment and countless insults, he still proved to be the better man. We truly feel that when being in situations where people create a black hole in your soul, one must look back at great individuals such as an underdog who was told he could not amount to anything yet surpassed all expectations. We should realize that we were giving indefinite and limitless power to create our own world. If we could only have the same conviction and drive to focus on our dreams and not give a damn about what other people say, we truly feel that we could all release the
Jackass within ourselves and create another success story.
