So this week on American Idol the top 10 attempted their best renditions of Motown's greatest hits. The guest artist this week was none other than music legend, Smokey Robinson. Of course the Idols were almost spellbound in his presence and like weeks before had the opportunity to work with him one-on-one. Mr. Robinson seemed genuinely glad to be there and offered encouraging words to the Idol hopefuls. As I watched him throughout the show I kept thinking to myself...how old is this man?? I mean when he spoke about many of his colleagues from back in the day, it was mainly in past tense. He is no spring chicken, but his face is abnormally youthful. It is apparent that he has had a facial tune up. It is rumored that he has undergone a face lift, brow lift, a possible rhinoplasty, laser treatments, and injections. I am all for keeping things young looking for as long as possible, but he had that "surprised" look to his face that never went away. I just wish it wasn't so tight looking. Despite all of his "freshening" up attempts he still sings as if a year has not passed. His voice is truly amazing and it is obvious what an amazing gift he possesses!!
