GLAM OR SHAM?: Sade, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and More at the Keep A Child Alive Black Ball

The stars were out for yesterday's Keep A Child Alive Black Ball at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, and I have to say this is one event I hate to have missed! Not that I had money for the ticket which I heard cost $50,000 a seat! And not that I was terribly bored yesterday (I was hanging out in Miami for a blogger event I threw for my job! But more on that later...).

I'm mad I missed it because Sade and Alicia Keys performed one of my favorite songs, "Love is Stronger than Pride." Sigh. Live vicariously like me through the video below.

The red carpet was just as exciting! Check out the looks I loved below and vote for your favorite!

Beyonce wore a fuschia gown by Andrew GN which featured a sweetheart neckline and draping at the waist. Not a fan of the color, but love the natural makeup on her.







Alicia Keys chose a gray printed gown with gathering around her baby bump.






She wore Indian headdress again (similar to her look at her wedding to Swizz Beatz) and her hair in an elegant bun.






These two stay with the Sears photo poses. Cute (I guess).







Jennifer Hudson showed off her svelte figure in a velvet, curve-hugging dress, strappy stilettos and sexy, dark lips. Gorgeous!






Whitney Houston gave us a head of wild, unkempt curls and a short black dress. She was...umm...animated on the red carpet. Not her best moment.






Uma Thurman wore a burgundy gown with asymmetric stripes around the waist, a crystal brooch and clutch and a leopard print cardigan. Yikes. Not elegant or polished at all.







June Ambrose continued her turban moment from New York Fashion Week in a black turban and a gown with a sequined black top and blue skirt with floral embroidery. What a fun, high-fashion and exciting look! I'm a fan.






Sade stole the spotlight (in my opinion) in a white gown with a plunging neckline and diamond embellishment. She paired it with her signature flowing black locks and siren red lips. Does it get more beautiful than this?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Wedding Weekend: Alicia Keys' Vera Wang Wedding Gown and Tiny's Valentino Wedding Gown

Love, and labels, were in the air this weekend.

As we previously reported, Tiny got married to T.I. in a lavish celebration, one of three scheduled engagements. Her over-the-top, princess Valentino gown did give me a Wow moment minus the chest tattoos (sorry ladies, I just don't love them).





But the embroidered tulle detailing on the bust and ruffles around the bottom of the dress are so gorgeous! Tiny paired it with an elegant diamond necklace and a veil with a crystal headband. She gave long, flowing hair under the veil. Loove! The groom wore an all-white white tux and glasses. Awww.








The bridesmaids wore black strapless dresses with sweetheart necklines and platinum sashes and matching diamond necklaces. Classy and chic.







Alicia Keys also tied the knot with Producer Swizz Beats in a simple, elegant one-shoulder Vera Wang gown that showed off her baby bump.



























I love the draping and the silver embroidered detail on the shoulder.



























She paired the gown with diamond studs, a beautiful headdress and Christian Louboutins.

The groom wore a pink, ruffled button-down shirt, black bow-tie, Aviator sunglasses, white jacket, black pants and white studded Christian Louboutin shoes. Hmm...ok, what matters is love but Swizz' outfit is giving me Easter Sunday. Yikes.
























I DO love that her hair is off her face in an elegant bun. Very pretty!

BREAKING NEWS: Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz Formally Announce Pregnancy (Oh and Engagement)

In what we can hardly call breaking news (since it was something that everyone knew already), singer Alicia Keys, 29, and music producer Swizz Beatz, 31, have formally announced that they're "expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year" to People.com. I'm glad they decided to announce everything because Alicia has been obviously looking very pregnant for a while (see pics below). And, don't get me wrong, I love me some Alicia Keys, but don't you think that it's kind of messed up that she was totally screwing around with this guy that was (and still is) married?! I think it's interesting that no one talks about that. Hmmmmm....what do you think, Glamazons?



Keys hid her baby bump in this voluminous Dolce & Gabbana frock Thursday at the Keep A Child Alive Black Ball fundraiser in London, England.

Here she is hugging her fiance, Swizz. Can't you just see the love for him all over her face?!



And here she is above (and below) trying hard to disguise her baby bump in all black outfits. Sorry, that didn't work! lol
