all ARTISTS STAND UP TO CANCER “JUST STAND UP”


Some of today’s biggest music artists have all worked together one way or another. Whether it was a featured collaboration, being on the same record label or working with the same music producers, one thing is for sure…it is hard to get Divas to work with eachother. Some of today’s biggest female artists all gathered together to create the song “Just Stand Up” which was to benefit cancer. The song was written by Ronnie Walton and Babyface, who also produced the song along with Antonio “L.A.” Reid. The song took women from all genres and mixed all their voices into one song.





The song was released on August 21, 2008 and then re-released in September after the live performance of the track on the “Stand Up to Cancer” show which aired on ABC, CBS and NBC. The song featured Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Fergie, Leona Lewis, Keyshia Cole, Miley Cyrus, Natasha Bedingfield, Ciara, Ashanti, Beyonce, Sheryl Crow, LeAnn Rimes and Melissa Etheridge with Nicole Scherzinger performing on the live version. It peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went double-platinum.
